hey there, new friend!
Hi, I’m Dr. Twanna, and I’m not just an executive coach. I’m your partner in navigating the complexities of leadership, career growth, and personal fulfillment. My journey to this work wasn’t linear, and it certainly wasn’t easy. But it’s the twists, turns, and uphill battles that have shaped me into the coach I am today.
I know what it feels like to be underestimated. To walk into a room and know that people see everything about you except your potential.
I know the sting of doubt, the weight of isolation, and the quiet (but constant) voice in your head that asks, Am I enough? But I also know this: those moments of doubt don’t define you. What you choose to do next does.

Growing up, I learned what it felt like to be invisible. And not by choice. As a quiet, awkward kid who endured relentless teasing and constant moves as an Army brat, I often found myself shrinking to avoid attention.
My teeth were a mess (thank God braces eventually fixed that!), I stuttered when I spoke, and I struggled to see the value in myself because, frankly, no one else seemed to.
I was underestimated at every turn, and those doubts followed me right on into adulthood. When I earned a scholarship to college through sheer grit and determination, I thought things would get easier.
But as a young Army officer, I found myself in uncharted waters: a leader, but also the only Black officer and the only female officer in a unit of over 1,200 people during Operation Desert Storm.
That experience was both isolating and defining. I didn’t have mentors to guide me, allies to lean on, or role models who looked like me.
Vulnerability often felt like a risk I couldn’t afford to take, and when I did let my guard down, it backfired. I had to learn, often the hard way, how to lead authentically in spaces where I was the exception to every rule.
But even in those moments of struggle, there was a spark inside me that refused to dim.
After transitioning out of the military, I felt like I was starting over without a map or a guide. But over time, I realized my setbacks weren’t just obstacles. They were lessons. People started coming to me for advice on their careers, and I discovered something that surprised me: I was good at helping others see their potential and create a strategy to reach it.
The same challenges I’d faced, imposter syndrome, isolation, career transitions, had given me a unique lens. I could see the patterns, understand the pain points, and, most importantly, help others navigate them with clarity and confidence.
That’s when I knew my purpose.
